Travelling communities’ accommodation needs Purpose 5.23 The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the accommodation needs of Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople are planned for positively and delivered in accordance with national policy. The policy provides a framework for identifying, allocating and safeguarding sites to meet identified needs whilst promoting sustainable, accessible, and well-designed development that supports equality, inclusion and community wellbeing.
