The human version

This section introduces the green and blue infrastructure chapter. Green infrastructure means natural, cultivated or designed assets such as trees, woodlands, hedgerows and open spaces. Blue infrastructure means water features such as rivers, streams, wetlands, ponds and canals, and some features, like floodplains, can be both. The policies here support strategic objectives including timely infrastructure, attractive places, better quality of life, connecting people to places and protecting environmental assets.
