Healthy communities and tackling health inequalities Purpose 5.203 The purpose of this policy is to promote healthy, inclusive and safe communities and contribute towards reducing health inequalities across Buckinghamshire. The policy supports development that improves physical and mental wellbeing, facilitates access to health services, encourages active lifestyles and provides the social, environmental and community infrastructure necessary to support healthy places. Implementation through Development Management Policies 5.204 The delivery of healthy communities through Policy SP16 will be supported by the Development Management policies in Chapter 7. These policies provide the detailed framework for promoting healthy lifestyles, reducing health inequalities, protecting and enhancing community infrastructure and ensuring that development contributes positively to the physical, mental and social wellbeing of Buckinghamshire's residents. 5.205 Development proposals will also be expected to comply with policies relating to Design of Developments, Residential Amenity, Space Standards, Transport Requirements for New Development, Parking Standards, Public Rights of Way, Green Infrastructure and Infrastructure Delivery where relevant. Together, these policies support the creation of healthy, inclusive and accessible places, encourage active travel, improve access to services and facilities, and help ensure that communities are well connected and supported by the infrastructure needed to meet the needs of existing and future residents. 5.206 In addition, proposals should accord with other relevant Development Management policies relating to Biodiversity Protection and Enhancement, Biodiversity Gain and Nature Recovery, Trees, Ancient and Veteran Trees, Woodlands and Orchards, Landscape Character and Visual Amenity, Watercourses and Associated Corridors, Pollution, Air Quality and Contaminated Land, Mitigating Light Impacts, Flood Risk, Sustainable Drainage Systems and Water Efficiency Standards.
