The human version (we wrote this, not the council)
This policy requires a Landscape and Environmental Management Plan, known as a LEMP, wherever landscape mitigation, restoration or habitat creation is proposed. The plan must be secured through planning conditions or a legal agreement for at least 30 years or the full life of the development, whichever is longer. It must set clear management objectives, include baseline surveys of existing landscape and wildlife features, give detailed specifications for all planting and landscape elements, and identify who will manage the land and how it will be funded.
