The Three Rivers Local Plan comes in two parts: Part I sets the policies, Part II allocates the sites, 408 pages together, with a 585 page sustainability appraisal published alongside. The public has 57 days to respond, more than half of them inside the school summer holidays.

Tips for a response that counts
Say who you are. Living nearby, running a shop or using the
service every week gives your reply real weight.Answer the questions asked. Replies that wander off still get
logged, but they carry a lot less weight.Be specific. “The junction already floods twice a
year” tells them far more than “this is a bad idea”.Bring evidence. Dates, photos and counts are worth more than
strength of feeling.Suggest an alternative. A workable option is much harder to
ignore than a complaint.Use your own words. Piles of identical template letters are
often logged as a single view.Keep a copy of what you sent and the date.
Submit a formal representation. This is the only response
that must be considered at the plan’s independent examination. The
emails below are worth sending too, but they do not count as representations.
